Vanguard Rallies, Tops Cal Lutheran

Bryan Davis’ run-scoring single with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth Wednesday gave host Vanguard a 6-5 nonconference baseball victory over Cal Lutheran.

Kevin Candelaria hit a home run in the bottom of the eighth to tie it, 5-5, for the Lions (7-34).

Hope International 3-0, Cal Baptist 0-6--Charity McMillan struck out eight for host Hope (19-24, 7-17) in the first game.
