A reception is scheduled before tonight’s City Council meeting to honor those involved in the opening of two schools at the city’s Higher Education Center, at Euclid Street and Garden Grove Boulevard. The University of La Verne and Concorde Career Institute joined Cal State Fullerton and Coastline Community College after construction on the second phase of the education center was completed last fall. The reception begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave. Information: (714) 741-5280.
