Planning Commissioner Frank Montesinos announced that he will resign in July to devote more time to his architectural business.
Montesinos, 57, has been a planning commissioner since 1995 and currently serves as chairman. He announced his resignation in a letter to Mayor Susan Ritschel last week. His term was to end in 2001.
The announcement came following a controversy over a housing project that had been considered by the Planning Commission and on which Montesinos’ firm had worked.
His firm, the Artek Group, develops business and residential projects.
Montesinos had abstained from voting on the Ballard Duplex project.
