BORON, Calif. — Two people were killed and four others seriously injured in a two-car head-on collision Monday on California 58 in the Mojave Desert.
The collision occurred around 2:30 p.m. just east of U.S. 395 when a westbound Dodge Neon crossed the center line and crashed into an eastbound Ford Explorer, said California Highway Patrol Officer Willie Hailey.
The two passengers in the Neon were killed. The Neon’s driver, the driver of the Explorer and two passengers in that vehicle were injured.
The accident blocked the major route for east-west traffic across the desert for more than 90 minutes.
