Lancaster Rally Comes Up Short, 5-4

Bo Robinson had three hits, but the Lancaster JetHawks were defeated by the Visalia Oaks, 5-4, in a California League game on Monday.
Terrmel Sledge (Kennedy High, Cal State Northridge) led off the ninth with a double for Lancaster (12-7). With one out, Visalia right fielder Hipolito Martinez made a diving catch to rob Craig Kuzmic of a potential tying hit.
Robinson, who also drove in two runs, flew out to left to end the game.

Left fielder Brent Cookson (Santa Paula, Ventura College) hit his fourth home run for Albuquerque (Dodgers).
Class A--First baseman Pete Paciorek (Glendale College) had two hits, including his fifth home run, and four runs batted in for San Bernardino (Dodgers). . . . Designated hitter Ryan Hankins (Simi Valley) had a double and three RBIs for Winston-Salem (White Sox). . . . Catcher Kevin Nykoluk (Simi Valley, Moorpark College) had three singles and three RBIs for Potomac (Cardinals).
