Canadian in Sect Sent to Labor Camp

China has sent a Chinese Canadian Falun Gong adherent to labor camp for three years, Canada said. Zhang Kunlun, 60, is the first practitioner of the banned sect with foreign citizenship to be imprisoned. He was sentenced Nov. 15 by a court in the eastern province of Shandong and is now at a labor camp outside the provincial capital, Jinan, said the Hong Kong-based Information Center for Human Rights and Democracy. Authorities have not permitted Canadian diplomats to visit Zhang, embassy spokeswoman Jennifer May said.
