Sheriff’s homicide detectives Saturday identified the woman whose body was found in a freezer inside an Athens home as 93-year-old Thelma Hammond.
An autopsy will determine whether Hammond’s death was due to natural causes or foul play, said Sheriff’s Deputy Rick Martinez. Hammond’s body was found about 7:30 a.m. Friday in her house in the 200 block of West 127th Street, where she lived with her 72-year-old daughter.
Detectives are seeking Hammond’s daughter for questioning.
