Synthetic Blood International Inc., a tiny biotech research and development company, said Monday that it plans to move its headquarters to Costa Mesa by early next year from Kettering, Ohio.
The company’s president, Robert Nicora, is an Orange County resident. He opened offices in the county shortly after he was hired in 1998.
The company, which is developing a synthetic blood substitute and an oxygen aid for damaged or diseased lungs, said in a press release that it will maintain its research facility in Kettering.
Synthetic Blood stock closed Monday at 32 cents a share, up 2 cents in over-the-counter trading.
