From Times Wire Reports
Former President Bush had his left hip replaced at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., and the clinic reported that things went well. The clinic said that Bush, 76, was resting comfortably and was expected to be hospitalized for five days. The surgery came as his son George W. Bush awaited legal rulings on his bid to become president. During the surgery, “I said a little prayer for him,” the younger Bush told CNN. Former First Lady Barbara Bush also had successful hip replacement surgery at the Mayo Clinic in December 1997.
