Vietnamese American Chamber Elects Head

Kim-Yen Huynh, a business development officer at California Center Bank’s Garden Grove office, has been unanimously elected president of Orange County’s Vietnamese-American Chamber of Commerce.
Huynh, who has been on the chamber’s board since 1991, is the first woman to serve as the group’s president. Board members elected her at a meeting late Tuesday.
Huynh, 52, wants to expand the chamber’s base of 250 members and promote seminars that will aid small businesses in Little Saigon. She also will head a chamber-sponsored trade delegation that leaves Friday for Vietnam. Altogether, 21 members will go on the 10-day trip.
A 21-year banking veteran, Huynh also serves on the board of the Asian Business Assn. of Orange County.
The chamber also created a new position of chairman “to work closely with and oversee the activities of the president.” Dr. Co Pham was appointed to the post.
