Presidential Ballot to Contain 11 Names

The Central Election Commission cleared the final candidates for Russia’s March 26 presidential poll, bringing the total number of hopefuls to 11. Besides acting President Vladimir V. Putin, who is widely favored to win the election, those in the race are three candidates approved Monday--suspended Prosecutor General Yuri I. Skuratov, former Moscow city security police chief Yevgeny Savostyanov and businessman Umar Dzhabrailov--as well as Communist Party chief Gennady A. Zyuganov, liberal Yabloko party leader Grigory A. Yavlinsky, regional governors Konstantin Titov and Aman G. Tuleyev, filmmaker Stanislav S. Govorukhin, leftist intellectual Alexei Podberyozkin and lawmaker Ella Pamfilova, the only woman.
