* Avery Dennison Corp. said it plans to spend more than $40 million to add manufacturing capacity in China, where demand is expanding for self-adhesive labels used on consumer products. The company will build three plants at unspecified locations in China over the next two years and expand its factory in Kunshan, China, north of Shanghai, where it also will open a technical training center for label makers from throughout the Asia-Pacific region. The company’s main business in China has increased more than 35% annually for the last five years, Avery Dennison said. Pasadena-based Avery Dennison shares rose $1.44 to close at $64.69 on the New York Stock Exchange.
