SEASON AT A GLANCE: Chevalier, the son of former Thousand Oaks Coach Ed Chevalier, is averaging 14.7 points and making 80.8% of his free throws.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Chevalier scored 39 points, making 14 of 23 shots from the field, in Southern Section Division I-A playoff victories over West Covina and Anaheim Loara. His three-point basket with 17 seconds left lifted the Lancers to a 72-71 second-round victory over Loara. “I had a good feeling as soon as I let it go,” Chevalier said. “Actually, I had a good feeling as soon as we left the huddle [during the timeout.]”

YEAR: Freshman
SPORT: Basketball
SEASON AT A GLANCE: The 5-foot-11 freshman is an exciting player who can score, rebound, play defense and run the floor. She is averaging more than 26 points, 16 rebounds and six steals.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Murphy had 43 points, 17 rebounds, six blocked shots, six steals and five assists in a Division V-AA wild-card victory over Bell-Jeff. She scored 30 points, including nine of the Mounties’ 11 points in overtime, and had 18 rebounds, seven steals and five blocked shots in a 60-51 first-round victory over Cate. “She’s a great transition player, like a Scottie Pippen,” Coach Sean Brandon said. “She can get a rebound and go the length of the floor with it.”
