GIRLS’ SOCCER PLAYOFFS

In other Division III games:

El Modena 2, Glendora St. Lucy’s 1--Ashley Clift scored the winning goal eight minutes into the second half as El Modena (17-5-2) upset second-seeded St. Lucy’s. The Vanguards played without star forward Vicki Bloom, who was injured in last weekend’s Olympic Development National Championship. El Modena will play at Atascadero.

Valencia 2, Lakewood St. Joseph’s 1 (2 OT)--Andrea Giambalvo scored two minutes into the second overtime for Valencia. Marlene Sandoval scored first for Valencia, but Monique Garciaparra tied the score for St. Joseph’s. Erin Duran had 13 saves for Valencia (16-4-2), which plays La Verne Bonita, with the site to be determined.

In Division I girls’ soccer:

Capistrano Valley 5, Alta Loma 2--Lindsay Greco scored two goals and Coco D’Angelo, Janelle Hillseth and Kristen Moore scored one each for top-seeded Capistrano Valley (22-1). The Cougars play at Upland.

Esperanza 5, Colton 0--Forward Erin Clewett scored three goals and Kristin Skinner recorded her 17th shutout of season for Esperanza, which plays Chino Hills Ayala, with the site to be decided.

Long Beach Poly 4, Marina 3--Poly broke a 3-3 tie, scoring the game-winner with 10 minutes remaining. Marina finished 19-8-3.

San Clemente 7, Oxnard Rio Mesa 0--Alison Halpren and Emily Ernsdorf each scored two goals and Whitney Jones had a goal and five assists for San Clemente (15-3-3), which plays third-seeded Claremont, with the site to be decided.

In Division II:

Mission Viejo 4, Hemet 0--Ashley Billings, Lindsey Huie, Erin Lowery and Stacey Mescher scored goals for Mission Viejo (19-6-1), which hosts third-seeded Manhattan Beach Mira Costa.

Santa Margarita 5, Riverside Poly 0--Alix Cohen scored twice for second-seeded Santa Margarita (20-3). Lauren Kent and Julie Peterson combined for six saves for the Eagles, who play North Torrance at a site to be determined.

Sunny Hills 2, Jurupa Valley 1--Megan Broschak scored the winning goal in the 55th minute for fourth-seeded Sunny Hills (23-4-2). Renee Garand tied the score, 1-1, for the Lancers at the end of the first half, assisted by Broschak. Sunny Hills will play Woodbridge, which defeated Lake Elsinore Temescal Canyon, 5-0. The site will be decided by a coin flip.

Laguna Beach 5, San Gabriel Gabrielino 0--Emily Ward had two assists and a goal for host Laguna Beach (11-7-4), which travels to top-seeded North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake.

In Division V:

San Pedro Mary Star of the Sea 2, St. Margaret’s 1--St. Margaret’s Brittany Hunsaker scored in the 55th minute to tie the score at 1-1, but Mary Star scored with 12 minutes remaining for the victory. The Tartans finished 13-5-1.

Santa Monica Crossroads 3, Brethren Christian 2 (OT)--Hayden Victor of Crossroads scored on a penalty kick with five minutes left in overtime to upset fourth-seeded Brethren Christian (15-3-3).
