How could Steve Springer leave Rocky Marciano off the list of the 10 best fighters of the century? Was it just an oversight or was it politically incorrect to include him?

I know that these “Lists of the Century” should all be taken with a grain of salt. Marilyn Monroe didn’t even make a recent Internet list of the century’s most beautiful women.

But to not put Babe Ruth at the top of any athlete-of-the-century list is ridiculous. Bill Plaschke was right on the mark with choices one through three. Thanks for writing this article on your day off, Bill.
