The Planning Commission unanimously approved an addition to the Cavalry Evangelical Free Church at 468 Legion St. and permitted the use of two adjacent homes at 568 Through St. to be used for classrooms and offices.
Two residents who oppose the proposal said the addition and home conversions go against the residential character of the neighborhood and will increase traffic congestion and noise.
The commission’s 5-0 vote allows the church to build the 1,031-square-foot addition that will connect to one of the two homes.
