Lakeview Avenue will get a left-turn lane, speed-check signs and street lights between Buena Vista Avenue and Yorba Linda Boulevard to comply with the recommendations of a $2,000 traffic study conducted by the city.
The city’s Traffic Commission voted recently to approve the changes based on the study, which looked at ways to improve traffic flow and safety along that stretch of road.
Traffic Engineer Bernie Dennis said a continuous left-turn lane from Buena Vista to north of Shook Lane will give residents living on Lakeview the time and space needed to get in and out of their driveways.
Radar trailers, displaying the speed of oncoming motorists, will be placed on Lakeview Avenue on a monthly basis. Signs that show an officer handing out a ticket or an officer with a radar gun will also be posted to remind drivers to stay within the speed limit, Dennis said.
