Victory for Long Beach State

SANTA BARBARA — Ramel Lloyd scored 19 points as Long Beach State came back Thursday to beat UC Santa Barbara, 72-69.
The 49ers, 22-4 overall and 14-1 in the Big West Conference, used full-court pressure to chip away at the Gauchos’ 43-31 halftime lead.
The 49ers took their first lead of the game on a three-point basket by D’Cean Bryant with 1:02 remaining. Bryant made two free throws with 15 seconds left to close the scoring.
Mark Hull missed a three-point attempt in the final seconds for the Gauchos (13-13, 9-6). Hull finished with 17 points.
Brandon Payton added 13 points for Santa Barbara, but only scored two in the second half. Hull scored 13 of his points in the first half.
Long Beach State, first in the Big West Western Division, has won five in a row and 20 of its last 21.
D’Cean Bryant had 13 points, and Charles O’Neal and Mate Milisa added 10 apiece for the 49ers.
