Karina Siam of Alemany High returned to basketball practice Thursday after missing the start of the week with a bruised knee.
Siam, the Indians’ No. 2 scorer, was injured in the fourth quarter of a 61-49 loss to Fullerton Rosary last week in the Southern Section Division III-AA girls’ semifinals.
She is expected to play Tuesday, when Alemany opens the state playoffs.
Harvard-Westlake, which also lost a Division III-AA semifinal, is the only other girls’ team from the region to qualify for the state playoffs.
