* Phillips Petroleum Co. is the leading contender to buy Alaskan oil fields that BP Amoco is selling to try to win federal approval of its $34-billion buyout of Atlantic Richfield Co., Bloomberg News reported. Phillips is negotiating to buy the fields for $6 billion to $7 billion, sources said. The three oil companies declined to comment.
* McDonald’s Corp. said it made a “modest” but unspecified investment in Food.com, an online food takeout and delivery service company based in San Francisco.
