A man found unconscious early Thursday near a busy freeway interchange later died, coroner’s officials said.
The man, apparently a transient, was identified as Victor Anselmo Faul, 38.
He was found at 6:15 a.m. in Santa Ana near the interchange of the Santa Ana and Garden Grove freeways by Caltrans workers repairing a freeway wall damaged by rain earlier in the week.
Workers told authorities they had seen Faul in the area for several days.
Faul was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he was pronounced dead at 8 a.m.
Coroner’s officials said there was no evidence of foul play. An autopsy is planned.
