THE SAFETY ZONE: ACTION LOG

The Times publishes a daily list of police incident reports provided by local law enforcement agencies. The Times prints items as soon as departments make them available. Because many departments release incident reports only weekly, not every community will be represented in each day’s Action Log. Authorities from the following cities released incident reports Wednesday:

CYPRESS

* Sequoia Avenue: A burglary was reported in the 5100 block at 7:36 p.m. Monday.

* Katella Avenue: A petty theft was reported in the 6800 block at 1:16 p.m. Monday.

* Ulithi Street: An auto theft was reported in the 6500 block at 12:44 p.m. Monday.

DANA POINT

* Dana Point Harbor Drive: A 37-year-old was cited on suspicion of possessing marijuana in the 24200 block at 8:30 p.m. Monday.

* Via San Juan: A 49-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of prostitution in the 24000 block at 6:20 p.m. Monday.

FULLERTON

* East Chapman Avenue: A petty theft was reported in the 1200 block at 4:05 p.m. Tuesday.

* South Highland Avenue: A petty theft was reported in the 1400 block at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday.

GARDEN GROVE

* Magnolia Street at Bestel Avenue: A report of a robbery and assault at 1:37 a.m. Sunday. Two people were waiting for a tow truck when a car pulled up behind them and four men got out and demanded the couple’s cell phone. One victim ran but was struck in the neck with a stick causing a laceration. The other victim surrendered the phone and the attackers fled in a full-sized, white sedan.

LAGUNA BEACH

* South Coast Highway: About $300 worth of art was reported missing from Aviation Arts in the 500 block at 10:08 a.m. Monday.

* South Coast Highway: A 1984 Porsche parked on private property was towed away in the 100 block at 11:55 a.m. Monday.

LA HABRA

* East Brookdale Avenue: A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 2100 block at 11:42 p.m. Tuesday.

* West Imperial Highway: A hit-and-run accident was reported in the 1800 block at 12:29 p.m. Tuesday.

LA PALMA

* Walker Street: A juvenile was detained by police for smoking marijuana in the 8200 block at 12:21 p.m. Monday.

* Meadowlark Lane: A grand theft was reported in the 8300 block at 10:50 a.m. Monday.

MISSION VIEJO

* Alicia Parkway: A person was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in the 24000 block after stopping the vehicle for traffic violations at 11:11 a.m. Sunday.

ORANGE

* Orange Park Boulevard: A suspicious person was reported in the 10000 block at 6:57 p.m. Monday.

PLACENTIA

* Murray Street at Santa Fe Avenue: A stereo and other personal items were taken from a car at 2:26 p.m. Tuesday.

* North Tuffree Boulevard at Tuffree Park: A male in a black sport-utility vehicle drove through the park almost hitting several people at 7:22 p.m. Tuesday.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO

* Calle Arroyo: A man reported someone left an explosive device in the men’s restroom at Cook’s Park near Via Solana at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday. Deputies found fragments of a pipe bomb that had exploded in a urinal, and the evidence was turned over to investigators.

* Del Obispo Street: A 58-year-old man was reportedly begging for money in the 31000 block at 11:05 a.m. Monday. Deputies contacted the man, who said he was a preacher and only talking to people.

TUSTIN

* Tustin Pines Way: A suspicious car was reported in the 1000 block at 7:23 a.m. Tuesday.

* Browning Avenue: Vandalism was reported in the 13000 block at 4:58 p.m. Monday.

VILLA PARK

* Santiago Boulevard: A fraud was reported in the 18000 block at 10:47 a.m. Tuesday.

* Patrick Drive: A burglary was reported in the 9000 block at 6:07 p.m. Tuesday.

WESTMINSTER

* Chinook Avenue: A warrant arrest was made in the 6200 block at 9:22 a.m. Monday.

* Pacific Street: Lost property was reported in the 15400 block at 9:31 a.m. Saturday.

YORBA LINDA

* Savi Ranch Parkway: A petty theft was reported in the 22700 block at 11:19 a.m. Tuesday.

Authorities from the following cities did not release incident reports: Anaheim, Brea, Buena Park, Costa Mesa, Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach, Irvine, Laguna Beach, Los Alamitos, Newport Beach, Santa Ana and Seal Beach.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department makes incident reports available on the Web. Go to https://www.ocsd.org and click on “Sheriff’s Blotter.” Incident reports are updated every few minutes and cover the cities of Dana Point, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Woods, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Stanton and Villa Park, as well as the county’s unincorporated areas.
