EVENT OF THE WEEK

* State basketball championships, Friday and Saturday at Arco Arena in Sacramento--The Compton Dominguez boys and the Harbor City Narbonne girls are going for Division I titles and possible mythical national championships. Torrance Bishop Montgomery and Playa del Rey St. Bernard are trying to join San Anselmo Drake (1982), Ripon Christian (1988) and Atherton Menlo (1989) as the only schools to win boys’ and girls’ state titles in the same year.
