No. 1 Mater Dei 1, Diamond Bar 0--Senior Tia Bollinger pitched her fourth no-hitter of the season for undefeated Mater Dei (13-0).
The visiting Monarchs got their run in the third inning when Allison Solis led off with a single, Molly McLean sacrificed her to second and Sheila McCorkle drove her in with a single to left field.
Jessica Young had two hits for Mater Dei.
No. 5 Kennedy 4, Fullerton 0--Michelle Turner pitched a three-hitter with 13 strikeouts for the Fighting Irish.
No. 9 Loara 3, Sunny Hills 0--Alicia Owen (9-1) gave up one hit and no walks and scored the only run the Saxons (11-1) needed on a second-inning error. Right fielder Jaclyn Huniu had a run-scoring single. Shannon Deutschman took the loss for Sunny Hills (5-6).
No. 10 Rosary 2-0, Sonora 1-1--Andee Lindgren struck out five in pitching a shutout, and Carrie Wisen hit a home run in the first inning for the visiting Raiders (9-2) in the second game.
Dana Kenney’s single to left scored Lindsey Knukolls with the winning run in the first game for Rosary (7-4). Lindgren had two hits in the first game for Sonora. Wisen’s home run was her first of the year.
Mission Viejo 2, Capistrano Valley Christian 1--With two outs in the bottom of the seventh and the score 1-1, Jen Roberts of Mission Viejo (6-4) scored the winning run from second base on a fielding error off Katie Kipisz’ hit to center field. It was the first loss for the Eagles (7-1).
Savanna 2, Katella 1--Playing their seventh straight one-run game, the host Rebels (7-3) converted two Katella errors into unearned runs and used timely defense to preserve the win.
Michelle Lopez had two hits and Chavez contributed a run-scoring single. Katella is 4-6.
Valencia 4, Santa Ana Valley 1--Michelle Whiteman pitched a five-hitter, striking out 10, for host Valencia (6-5). Whiteman also had a triple and a single and drove in a run for the Tigers.
In the Garden Grove League:
Garden Grove 3, Los Amigos 0-- Freshman Jessica Pixler (2-3, 2-0) pitched a no-hitter, and Courtney Pixler had two hits and drove in two runs for the host Argonauts (3-6, 2-0). Los Amigos is 0-2 in league.
