Pair of Sevens Prove Unlucky for Hart at Foothill

Hart High is unbeaten no longer after Foothill defeated the Indians, 7-1 and 7-0, in a nonleague softball doubleheader Saturday at Foothill.
Courtney Fossatti pitched a one-hitter in the first game for the Knights (8-1). Erica Duhart broke up the no-hitter with a two-out, run-scoring single in the fifth inning.
Elizabeth Bendig and Sarah Strone combined to shut out the Indians (7-2) on a three-hitter in the second game.
In the second game, Lindsey Kontra doubled for Hart, ranked No. 2 in the region by The Times.
Cornerstone Christian 3, Santa Clara 1--Tiffany Monzo had three hits, including a two-run home run in the ninth inning, and Julie Hartnell had 12 strikeouts for the Eagles(7-1) in a nonleague victory at Santa Clara.
Royal 6-0, La Reina 0-9--Monica Thompson had two hits, three RBIs, two stolen bases and scored twice La Reina (5-4) at Royal.
