Swisher Saving Grace for St. Bonaventure
The key to St. Bonaventure High’s surge to the Tri-Valley League title is that rarity in high school baseball: a closer.
Jack Swisher has eight saves in 10 appearances, leading the Seraphs to a 16-3 record, 9-1 in league play.
Swisher makes life easy for starters Tucker Bennett (6-0) and Gilbert Infante (6-1), who have earned-run averages under 2.00. They go hard for as long as they can knowing Swisher will be there to finish.
Swisher contributes with the bat too. He is batting .371 with a team-high 18 runs batted in.
Four players have combined for 42 stolen bases, led by Brandon Mascorre with 13 and Mike Trejo with 12. Swisher has nine.
