Matador Women Make Run to Another Title

Annetta Wells won the 200 and 400 meters and Cal State Northridge claimed the Big Sky Conference women’s track and field title for the second consecutive year and third time in four years Saturday night at Sacramento.
Wells won the 200 with a time of 23.90 and the 400 in 54.62.
Northridge finished first with 160 points, Weber State had 148 1/2 and third-place Montana State had 133.
LaShaunda Fowler of Northridge won the 100 in 11.92, edging Joni David from Cal State Sacramento by .02 of a second.
Fowler placed first in the long jump (19-10), had a third-place finish in the 100 hurdles (13.98) and a fourth-place finish behind Wells in the 200 in 24.66.
The Matadors won the 400 relay in 45.29 and 1,600 relay in 3:42.38.
Nancy James of Northridge finished second in the 1,500 with a time of 4:26.95 and placed third in the 800 in 2:11.08.
Nancy Dollar of the Matadors placed second in the 5,000 with a time of 17:30.80.
