The Irvine medical devices and software company reported a third-quarter net loss of $20 million, or 88 cents a share, which included noncash charges of $15.6 million, primarily related to the acquisition of Cadent Medical Corp. in July. A year earlier, the company lost $1.7 million, or 18 cents a share. Sales totaled $1.2 million. No revenue was recorded for the 1999 third quarter.
