Children in grades three to six can sign up for the Community Services Department’s youth basketball.
Registration, which begins after school and will last until 4 p.m., will take place Dec. 4 at Eastbluff and Harbor View elementary schools; Dec. 5 at Andersen and Lincoln elementary schools; and Dec. 6 at Mariners, Newport and Newport Heights elementary schools.
The registration fee is $40 for residents and $45 for nonresidents. Coaches will be on the basketball courts at each site.
The league focuses on fundamental skills and teamwork. Each player will play at least half of each game, and players of all skill levels are encouraged to participate.
Registration is also possible at the Community Services Department, 3300 Newport Blvd.
