North Hollywood Has Singles Party in 5-2 Victory

Angela Jekal defeated Victoria Wong, 6-4, 7-5, to spark a singles sweep as North Hollywood High defeated El Camino Real, 5-2, in a City Invitational semifinal match Wednesday at Balboa Sports Complex.
The No. 2 doubles team of Sara Jurdi and Sonia Lee from North Hollywood (14-4) defeated Tania Das and Yale Sherman, 7-5, 2-6, 6-3, for the Huskies’ only doubles victory.
Vicki Browne and Tania Rivera defeated Christine Chung and Aa Young Hong, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 1 doubles for El Camino Real (7-9).
Venice 5, Chatsworth 2--Heather Williams beat Jamie Lui, 7-5, 6-0, at No. 1 singles, but it wasn’t enough for the Chancellors in a semifinal match at Balboa Sports Complex.
The No. 1 doubles team of Bonnie Dong and Christine Cho scored a 6-3, 1-6, 5-4 (retired), victory for Chatsworth (6-10).
