UC Irvine 71, Howard 47--Senior forward Ben Jones scored 22 points to lead the Anteaters past the Bisons at the Bren Center.
Junior guard Jerry Green scored 17, had a career-high seven steals and added five assists for Irvine, which had to rally from a 21-16 deficit in the first half.
A 13-2 run gave the Anteaters a 29-23 advantage and they continued to surge from that point, running the lead to 65-39 in the second half.
Guards Ron Williamson and Ali Abdullah led Howard with 14 points each.
