Old Ranch in Seal Beach Is One of Four Venues

The top high school singles and doubles players in Orange County are spread out across Southern California today as they participate in the Southern Section individual preliminaries.
Four singles players and four doubles teams from each of the four sites will advance to the section championships at the Claremont Club for the Round of 16 and quarterfinals on Nov. 30. The semifinals and finals also will be at the Claremont Club on Dec. 1.
At the Old Ranch Tennis Club in Seal Beach today, the top singles players are the Pacific Coast League’s champion and runner-up Anne Yelsey and Brittany Reitz of Corona del Mar, South Coast League champion and runner-up Kady Pooler and Chelsy Thompson of Dana Hills, Sunny Hills’ Joanna Kao and Esperanza’s Kelly Six and H.R. Espiritu. Play begins at 11:30 a.m.
At the Billie Jean King Tennis Center in Long Beach, the top-seeded singles players are Lindsey Nelson of Villa Park, Susanna Lingman and Elizabeth Exon of Woodbridge and Yelena Olshanskaya of L.A. Marlborough. Play begins at 9 a.m.
At the Claremont Club, Tracy Lin of Canyon and Robyn Baker of Palm Desert are the top-seeded players. Play begins at 1 p.m. The other site is Agoura High, where there are no county players.
San Marino’s Luana Magnani is not entered in the tournament. Magnani, the defending champion, is concentrating on team competition.
