Backup John Edwards passed for 218 yards and two touchdowns Saturday and Montana downed Montana State, 28-3, for its 10th consecutive victory at Missoula, Mont.
Montana (10-1, 8-0 in the Big Sky Conference) has a 15-game winning streak over Montana State (0-11, 0-8), which has a 17-game losing streak dating to last season.
The Grizzlies, ranked No. 1 in NCAA Division I-AA, host a first-round playoff game Saturday.
Idaho State 27, Utah State 24--Freshman Isaac Mitchell ran for two touchdowns, including a 23-yarder in the fourth quarter that gave the Bengals a victory at Logan, Utah.
Derrek Shank kept the Aggies (5-6) in the game with two interceptions, one in the end zone and another he returned for a score.
Southern Utah 27, Northern Arizona 23--Sam Elliott’s 11-yard touchdown run midway through the fourth quarter at Flagstaff, Ariz., gave the Thunderbirds (7-4) their fifth consecutive victory.
Carson Bradley’s 28-yard scoring pass to Francis St. Paul gave the Lumberjacks (3-8) a 23-13 lead three minutes into the second half.
