Goal-Oriented Kantoft Helps Kingsmen Win

Oskar Kantoft scored his 18th and 19th goals of the season for Cal Lutheran in a 5-1 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men’s soccer victory over La Verne on Wednesday at Cal Lutheran.
Kantoft is two goals short of Brian Collins’ school career record of 54.
Kantoft scored in the eighth minute from three yards on a give-and-go with Danny Ermolovich.
He scored in the 31st minute from four yards on a rebound of Ermolovich’s shot that hit the crossbar.
John Teeter scored in the fourth minute to give the Kingsmen (13-4-1, 9-2-1 in SCIAC play) a 1-0 lead.
Havard Aschim had one goal and one assist for the Kingsmen.
Scott Andersen had one goal for Cal Lutheran.
Cal Lutheran’s next game is Saturday at 1 p.m. against Claremont-Mudd.
The Master’s 7, Chapman 0--Anthon Brueggeman scored three of his four goals in the first half in a nonconference game at The Master’s (16-3).
MEN’S WATER POLO
Santa Monica 14, Valley 10--Chris Langer had five goals, but the Monarchs gave up five goals in the fourth quarter and lost a Western State Conference game at Valley.
David Krausse had two goals and Jon Hembree made eight saves for Valley (6-14, 0-4).
WOMEN’S WATER POLO
Valley 13, Santa Monica 9--Julie Olson had four goals to push her season total to 72 for the Monarchs in a WSC victory at Valley.
Shelly Stiles had three goals and Deborah Hoch made seven saves for Valley (14-7-1, 3-2).
