Group Takes Meadow Cleanup Seriously

More than 20,000 Rainbow Family members caused little damage to the Idaho alpine meadow where they gathered for their annual convention of free spirits.
Crews for the Rainbow Family of Living Light have been cleaning the area since a traditional July 4 day of prayer and meditation.
The group drew criticism from Idaho officials and Native American tribal leaders, who said the pristine Cache Meadow could not handle so many campers.
There is no visible trash left in the valley.
“It’s been fun,” said Athena, one of the crew members. “To be outside in the woods, to go to sleep under the stars, to watch things grow back--it doesn’t get much better than that.”
