Retail Gasoline Prices Fall in L.A., Statewide

The average price of retail gasoline in Los Angeles dipped to $1.586 per gallon, down from $1.661 the week before, the U.S. Department of Energy said. The statewide average price edged lower to $1.616 per gallon, down from $1.669.
Nationwide, U.S. retail gasoline prices fell 0.8 cent in the last week to an average of $1.376 a gallon, the lowest price since February 2000, according to the department’s weekly survey of about 800 filling stations. Prices nationwide have fallen 33.7 cents, or 20%, from a record $1.713 a gallon during the week ended May 14.
