A leading suspect in the assassination of an Indonesian judge who sentenced the fugitive son of ex-dictator Suharto to prison has died in police custody, authorities said.
Police have accused Suharto’s youngest son, Hutomo Mandala Putra, better known as Tommy, of ordering the killing of the Supreme Court justice last month.
The suspect, retired army Sgt. Col. Wiyono, 61, apparently died of a heart attack, police said. Wiyono was arrested Aug. 9. Police accused him of supplying the murder weapon to Tommy, who later gave it to the two assassins.
