Sophomore Greg Bockert pinned Casey Curran in 33 seconds to lift Thousand Oaks High to a 35-30 victory over Newbury Park on Thursday night in a Marmonte League wrestling match at Thousand Oaks.
The Lancers (16-7-1, 4-1-1 in league meets) clinched second place.
Thousand Oaks trailed, 30-25, with two matches remaining before Mike Hobert pulled the Lancers to within one point with a 9-0 decision over Jeff Boscorino.
BOYS’ SOCCER
Rio Mesa 4, Hueneme 1--Jimmy Heathcoate scored four goals to give him 27 this season in a Pacific View League game at Hueneme.
El Camino Real 4, Granada Hills 1--Ori Adrabi scored his 15th goal of the season as the Conquistadores clinched the West Valley League championship at El Camino Real.
Yan Falkinstein had a goal and an assist for El Camino Real (20-3, 7-1).
GIRLS’ SOCCER
Antelope Valley 2, Littlerock 0--Freshman Sara Sichley scored twice in a Golden League game at Antelope Valley.
Buena 6, Dos Pueblos 0--Natalie Sanderson scored four times in a Channel League game at San Marcos and has 110 career goals.
Buena is 21-1-2, 5-0-1.
GIRLS’ WATER POLO
Notre Dame 9, Alemany 6--Kristen Kaplan had four goals and Sammy Zuckerman scored two of her three in the decisive third quarter for the Knights (11-4, 5-1) in a Mission League victory at Alemany.
Jeanine Long had four goals for the Indians, who trailed, 3-2, at halftime but were outscored, 4-1, in the third quarter.
Irvine 8, Harvard-Westlake 6--Courtney Quinn scored three goals and Carol Kiefer had eight saves for the Wolverines (12-4), ranked No. 3 in Southern Section Division III, in the first round of the Irvine tournament.
The Vaqueros are ranked sixth in Division I.
