Being ranked in the top 25 wasn’t necessarily a winning proposition last week, particularly among the top 10, with eight teams losing. Losses by the top three teams--Stanford, Duke and Kansas--means that North Carolina will probably emerge as the No. 1 team when the Associated Press poll is announced today.
