WASHINGTON — Union pilots at Comair Inc. went on strike early today, forcing the nation’s second largest regional airline to suspend all operations and stranding thousands of passengers on flights from Maine to Mexico.
“After three years of negotiations, our needs for work rules, retirement, compensation and job security remain ignored,” the union said in a statement.
Comair, a subsidiary of Delta Airlines Inc., carries 25,000 passengers a day on more than 800 flights under the Delta Connection banner.
