A woman allegedly drowned one of her 4-year-old twin daughters because she believed the child was possessed by the devil, New York City officials said.
Sabrina Wright, 29, of Manhattan, told police she drowned Signifagance Oliver in a bathtub after hearing her own mother’s voice coming out of her daughter’s body, said Nicholas Scoppetta, commissioner of the New York Administration for Children’s Services.
Wright is charged with second-degree murder and endangering the welfare of a minor, and faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted. Signifagance’s twin sister, Ellagance, was unharmed and was taken to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital.
