Black Catholic Gospel Choir to Stage Songfest

St. Eugene Church’s adult choir, one of the oldest black Catholic gospel choirs in Southern California, will perform at the church’s eighth annual Songfest at 2 p.m. Sunday. Its children’s choir will also perform. The church is at 9505 Haas Ave., South Los Angeles.
The program, “Songs of Prayer and Praise,” will chart a range of gospel styles from African American contemporary to spiritual.
