Idaho State (0-0) at Loyola Marymount (1-1), 1 p.m., KXLU-FM (88.9)--Loyola lost its opener against Samford, 72-60, then defeated Mississippi Valley State, 74-65. The Lions have made 13 of 24 three-point shots. Freshman forward Andy Osborn scored 14 points against Samford and had 15 points and 12 rebounds against Mississippi Valley State. Senior guard D’Marr Suggs averaged 11.8 points last season for Idaho State.
Cal State Fullerton (0-0) at Pepperdine (0-0), 2 p.m.--The Paul Westphal era officially begins in Malibu as the former NBA player and coach returns to a college sideline for the first time since coaching at Grand Canyon College in 1988. The Waves lost their three top scorers from last season, including guard Brandon Armstrong, who is with the New Jersey Nets. Guard Craig Lewis is the top returning scorer at nine points a game. Fullerton Coach Donny Daniels starts his second season. Guard Kevin Richardson, who averaged 11.6 points last season, is the Titans’ top returning scorer.

UC Riverside (0-0) at Portland (0-0), 7 p.m., KPRO (1570)--This game is Riverside’s first as a full-fledged Division I program.
Junior forward Mark Miller, who averaged 13.3 points, and sophomore forward Vili Morton (8.5 points, 7.2 rebounds) are the top returning scorers from a team that finished 8-17 last season against Division I opponents. Former UCLA player and assistant coach Michael Holton is making his debut as Portland’s coach.
