North Torrance 35, Monrovia 14--North Torrance senior quarterback Kenny Brown proved to be equally dangerous on the ground and through the air as he lead the Saxons (10-1) to a first-round Division X playoff victory over Monrovia.
Brown completed 12 of 17 passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns. His favorite target was junior wide out Jeff Gray who had seven catches for 169 yards. Brown also carried the ball seven times for 71 yards and three more scores.
North Torrance’s defense did its part, holding Monrovia (4-7) to only 225 total yards while forcing four turnovers.
