Charity Regains Control of Kabul Warehouse

The World Food Program said in Geneva it had regained control of a key warehouse in Kabul, one of two storage depots it earlier announced had been occupied by Taliban forces.
“We now have control of the warehouse in Kabul,” WFP spokeswoman Christiane Berthiaume said.
WFP chief Catherine Bertini had said in New York that the Taliban had taken control of 7,000 tons of food in two warehouses in Kabul and Kandahar. But Taliban Education Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi said that far from occupying the premises, the Taliban had posted extra guards to protect them.
In Islamabad, Pakistan, later, WFP spokesman Khaled Mansour said nothing was missing from the Kabul warehouse. “But we still have to hear about our warehouse in Kandahar,” Mansour added.
