Bob is a good scout
It’s no secret I love Fire Marshal Bob. As Hollywood’s favorite hard-nosed quasi-detective, Robert Gladden has earned Clubland’s respect. When he stumbled upon the illegal Bunsen burners outside CineSpace on the night of the new Hollywood Boulevard club’s preview party, Fire Marshal Bob pitched a fit. It was a last-ditch effort to serve food, as the kitchen was still a work in progress, but when he found out the chef was Hollywood vet Monica May (North/Belly), he let her off the hook, and a swell time was had by all.... This is a season of fond remembrances, so last week, dozens of Hollywood rock ‘n’ rollers took part in a cosmic birthday bash for performer Carrie Hamilton at Goldfingers. Hamilton, a dearly departed friend of the scene, succumbed to cancer in May.... In February, former Coconut Teaszer booking director Len Fagan begins booking Wednesdays at Platinum Live in Studio City. In January, he starts running Mondays at Hollywood’s Club Lingerie. Imagine that: Lingerie could rock again....
