Re “Gruesome Killing of Animals Isn’t Entertainment,” Commentary, May 29: Though I agree with Kimmi Kappenberg about reality shows and cruelty to animals not being entertainment, I had to chuckle in wonderment. Where do all the poultry and meats we consume in this world come from? The meat fairy? I don’t think the farmers of America are “pretending” to be dependent on animals to survive. The real problem is programming--change that.
