Treasury Postpones T-Note Announcement

The Treasury Department said it will delay the scheduled Wednesday announcement giving details of its next debt auction for two-year notes because of an impasse in Congress over raising the government’s debt ceiling.
The auction of two-year notes had been scheduled for June 26. Settlement, when the successful bidders pay for new securities, was scheduled for July 1.
Treasury officials said they still hoped that the July 1 settlement date can be maintained even if the date of the actual auction slips from June 26.
