Corona del Mar Runner Commits to Stanford

Julie Allen of Newport Beach Corona del Mar High, a third-team All-American in cross-country, has committed to Stanford.

Allen won the Southern Section Division III title in November and followed that with a second-place finish in the state championships, a third in the West regional and an 11th-place effort in the national meet in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. In track, she finished third in the 3,200 meters in the state championships last year and has a best of 10 minutes 36.03 seconds.
