Re “Ad Man Gives His Bitter Divorce a Happy Ending--in a Film Fantasy,” May 1: How incredibly nice of The Times to give local filmmaker and advertising man Steven Dworman such glowing, four-column, full-color, front-page coverage on the theatrical run of his $1.5-million film. May he achieve the best of success.
However, could you please explain what is so newsworthy about this film that merits front-page news space? Or should I say advertising space? Hundreds of equally worthy, truly independent films being four-walled in L.A. theaters have gone completely unnoticed by The Times. Does this mean The Times is ready to give equal coverage to all local filmmakers?
